Take a trip to the Portland Japanese Garden for this intensive seminar that focuses on stonework in the Japanese tea garden. Visiting instructors from Japan as well as Portland Japanese Garden provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in stonework, pruning, bamboo fence construction, history, drawing, design, and tool use – all framed eloquently in the culture of tea.  Click here for more info

Beginner-level: June 3-9, 2019 (Deadline for application Feb. 15)

Intermediate-level: Sept. 16-27, 2019 (Deadline for application Apr. 15)

The seminar is a presentation of the Portland Japanese Garden’s Japanese Garden Training Center. The Center is a 2018 American Public Gardens Association award recipient for Program Excellence. Click here to see a short video about the seminar.
