During this year of remarkable growth, the Stone Trust has offered you thirty-seven opportunities to learn the five basic rules for building an aesthetically pleasing, structurally sound freestanding dry stone wall that will endure the forces of nature–friction and gravity–over long periods of time. Thanks to the energy, commitment, and generosity of site hosts and facilitators–all professional members and certified instructors–you can participate in introductory trainings at six Stone Trust sites in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest. These generous people donate their time, invest their financial resources, and commit their expertise to building the facilities, so you can come to learn the art and craft of dry stone walling. Thanks to all of them helping to preserve and advance this ancient tradition!
