A Weekend of Workshops in Barre, Vermont and a Celebration of Granite

The Stone Trust brought a number of wallers to the Vermont Granite Museum in Barre, VT for a weekend of workshops, including a 1-Day Introductory Workshop and a Stone Shaping Workshop. A dozen of homeowners, enthusiasts, and landscape/hardscape professionals came out to the 1-Day Intro to learn the basics of dry stone walling. The day started with an overview of the elements of a dry stone wall and then the group worked together to strip out the wall. After building a solid foundation course, the group was off to the races to build the wall back better than they found it. The Granite Festival was at the Vermont Granite Museum on the same day, so visitors got to see what a dry stone walling class looks like, and how a day of walling might look.
