We welcome your nominations to the Stone Trust Board of Directors. Our board includes up to thirteen members. At present, we have eleven members working to set direction and provide oversight to our nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization. These eleven members each engage in one or more of the following committees:
- Executive Committee
- Finance Committee
- Governance Committee
- Program Committee
We are seeking four new board members. Two board positions are open due to resignations from long-serving members whose lives required them to shift their energies. In addition, the terms of two current members expire in December of this year. Both will have completed two consecutive three-year terms and, according to our bylaws, are ineligible for board membership for one year.
Ideally, the Stone Trust Board will reflect geographical, ethnic, gender, and professional diversity, as well as maintain a minimum percentage (approximately half ) of experienced wallers and instructors.
But first the Governance Committee needs to have some nominees to review! Please send us the names of people you think would make good Board Members, along with a brief description of their background and qualifications. All information will be for internal discussions of the Board and Executive Director only.
Deadline to receive nominations: September 1, 2021.
Governance Committee members will follow up with nominees between September and December. We will recommend a slate of new members to the Board of Directors at our Annual Meeting in December and invite new members to join the board in January 2022.
