Change is in the air!

Brian Post, our dedicated Executive Director for the past 4 ½ years, will be shifting to a more limited role in the Trust focused on the technical aspects of walling and training.  We want to express our tremendous gratitude to him for all he has done for The Stone Trust.  He will step down as Executive Director by the end of 2019.

Since 2012 Brian has dedicated a great deal of his life and time to the Trust as board member, board president and, Executive Director. With unparalleled dedication, Brian has played a pivotal role in the growth, development and success of The Stone Trust. Under Brian’s stewardship The Stone Trust has brought dry stone walling to life for thousands of people.

Going forward, Brian will continue to be involved with providing technical walling and curriculum support, as well as continuing to be an Instructor and Examiner.  Brian is looking forward to this transition as it will enable him to resume focus on his walling career and family.  It is our good fortune that he will continue to be involved with the Trust. We wish him well and look forward to seeing him on the other side of a wall soon!

I encourage you all to reach out and thank Brian for his unwavering commitment, passion and enthusiasm for The Stone Trust and its mission.

The Stone Trust has grown significantly by every measure under Brian’s leadership. The Executive Director role has grown with this success. We will be conducting a search over the next few months to find our next Executive Director. (click here for more information)

We are also looking to add members to the Board of Directors who connect with our mission to preserve and advance the art and craft of dry stone walling. We have multiple new initiatives that will benefit from your passion, creativity, and energy. Please reach out to me, Brian or any of the other Board members if you are interested in helping to take the Trust into its next decade!  (click here for more information)

Speaking of decades… The Stone Trust will be 10 years old in the spring. Save the date for Memorial Day weekend 2020, when we have an action-packed celebration planned. A special build, engaging talks and reconnecting with old friends is on the menu! Look for more details in a future newsletter.
