FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER

We’re seeking an experienced and reliable individual to fill an open position for Field Operations Manager. A great opportunity for the right candidate to join a stable growing company working on a wide array of projects.

This position will have the opportunity to become part of a dynamic company and as a result have exposure to many aspects of landscape development, restoration, design, masonry, stonework and more. The ideal candidate would be creative and focused: aspire greatness: and be open to putting in the extra effort when needed to see a project through.  The person in this position will be working along side, and supporting the work of some of the finest DSWA-GB certified wallers in the USA.  We are excited about this position and look forward to having this individual join our team.

The position is Full-Time (40 hours) and year round. During peak periods extended workdays and weeks may be required to meet business needs.

The compensation for this position is $25 – $35 per hour, based on experience. We also provide benefits, including paid holidays, paid time off, and winter flex time.

Building trades experience is required.  Stonework / dry stone experience is a plus, but not required.  Level 1 DSWA-GB certification is also a plus but not required.

Two Week Walling Intensive (Paid)

Stone Bear Mason, LLC is looking for 2 people to join its crew on a short term basis for a travel job in the spring of 2023. Each of the two chosen candidates will spend two weeks working with a host of extremely talented and experienced wallers. This will be an opportunity to have real job experience, working alongside multiple different wallers, while simultaneously learning essential skills for any walling job. I am specifically looking for people who have not yet gotten their level 2 (or possibly even their level 1 DSWA certification). This is a paid work and learning opportunity. In addition to receiving an hourly wage, candidates will receive a food stipend, travel reimbursement, with housing covered as well for the duration of the two week intensive. The application deadline is November 18th, 2022. APPRENTICE WITH MAINE STONE SCAPES, 2023

Maine Stone Scapes in Cape Elizabeth, Maine is looking for an apprentice to begin in the spring of 2023. We are looking for an individual excited about a career in dry stone construction, especially dry stone walling. Those interested must be a problem solver, good teammate, hard worker, and ready to hit the ground running.

Starting pay is $20/hr with 401k and company contribution, company hammers provided, and one week of paid time off after 6 months of employment. DSWA testing fees are also covered by Maine Stone Scapes.

INSTRUCTORS IN DESIGN AND FABRICATION WITH STONE

The Central Vermont Career Center working in conjunction with the Vermont Granite Museum,

Norwich University, and Vermont Technical College, anticipates the opening of a Design and Fabrication program to be housed at the Vermont Granite Museum.

The Career Center is seeking candidates with:

~Willingness to pursue a teaching career and a technical education instructor’s license
~Prior teaching experience with youth and young adults
~Professional training (i.e., apprenticeship, certifications, or college courses) in stone sculpting
~Fluency with 3D design software, such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, and Rhinoceros 3D
~Experience in dry laid stone masonry or willingness to pursue Dry Stone Walling Association’s certification
~ Familiarity with the monument industry
~ Patience and persistence
~ Strong basic supervisory skills and the ability to supervise students in both the classroom and studio areas
~ Ability to attend required or requested training, meetings, and professional growth activities outside of school hours (i.e., summers and after-school).

This is a school year position covered by the local Education Association collective bargaining agreement and salary is based on the agreement.
