As with all our workshops, it was a day of instruction, lots of hands-on experience and personal interaction. Participants came from as far afield as southern CT, northern VT and the Cape. There were some family groups, a mother-daughter-aunt trio and two father-son duos, including the son of the instructor.
Over the course of the day 13 participants, indoors at The Stone Trust Center, each built their own section of wall (one side), using round field stone. The group worked really well together and said they enjoyed the workshop. Now that they know the basic rules of structural walling, they can apply them to any type of stone and project. Photos from the workshop are below.
DSWA certified instructors for the day were Torben Larsen and Andras Lazar with Pete Ryder doing site coordination.
The next Introductory Walling Workshop, and the last one for the year, takes place indoors on December 14th at Stoneyard in Littleton, MA. This winter workshop gives you time to mull over your landscaping projects for spring. More details…
