The Stone Trust has been continuing to play its consulting and technical advising role on the project. Our on site lead Seth Harris has been working with the masons and other contractors. A big part of the job is working with the challenges, problems and design changes as they occur and making sure that everything moves forward in the best possible way. As expected, this is keeping us on our toes!
Wet weather (20″ of rain last week!) has persisted much of the time since the last update but despite this, work is progressing nicely, with much of the foundation now completed. As described in previous updates, the work is mortared using Natural Hydraulic Lime, however it is still being stacked using the principles of dry stone construction.
