This is my first attempt at a double faced stone wall or any stone wall for that matter! Although not perfect, I’m happy with the outcome and wanted to say thank you for providing the resources (video/pdf) to learn. I’ll also be signing up for a beginner’s course at The Stone Trust for this summer (if everything is still a go)!
I’m building an identical section of wall to the right of the picture I sent you. The gap in the middle will be finished with a rustic wooden gate.
Everything is still a go (fingers crossed!). Drew registered for the last spot in our July 11 Introduction to Dry Stone Walling workshop. We still have spaces in the July 17 Intro and the July 17 Contractors Intro. “What’s the difference?” you wonder. In addition to the hands on building of a wall, there will be discussions of good work practices, pricing walls, proper foundations, etc. Join us!
