Peter Isherwood, from Lancashire England, will be coming to instruct and examine for the first time in Sept 9 – 11, 2017. He Is one of England top wallers and serves on the Craft Skills Committee of the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain which governs the certification program. On Saturday Sept 9th, at 7pm Peter will be giving a presentation about his work in event room (Apple Packing Barn) on Scott Farm. The presentation is open to the public and free (A small donation to The Stone Trust is suggested). With lots of slides of Peter’s work from England and elsewhere this presentation is sure to leave you great ideas for your walling projects, and a desire to go visit England.
About the Presenter:
Peter Isherwood grew up on a Lancashire farm where his grandfather introduced him into dry stone walling.
In 1987 he started a career in dry stone walling working locally. He joined the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Brittan (DSWA-GB) in 1990, acquired the associations accredited training and skills qualifications, and became a Certified Master Craftsman 1994.
After gaining his Master Craftsman certification he carried out higher profile project work working with colleges, artists, and interior design companies. This included student training, sculptures, garden design, and interior feature walls. He has worked around the world including Switzerland, France, Spain and Canada.
Peter has recently employed a young apprentice through the National lottery funding program put together by the DSWA-GB.
Peter Isherwood is becoming more involved with the Dry Stone Walling Association working towards becoming a Trustee of the DSWA-GB.
