Reading List – Listening to Stone

Written by Dan Snow. Listening to Stone tells the story of a waller at work in nature, from reflections on heavy lifting to making stone fantasies in the landscape. An engaging and thoughtful read for anyone wo has ever had a yen to split a log or wrestle with some stone, and, indeed, anyone who wants to experience and artist at work. Snow’s constructions, captured in photographs accompanying the text, range from the practical (a sheep shed), to the whimsical (a shelter for a rock), to the meandering (a branching wall), to the mystical (a fire bowl).
