See The Stone Trust On TV!

Peter Welch being interviewed at the Masters Feature Park

See The Stone Trust on TV on the show Chronicle on WCVB Channel 5 in the Boston Area this Thursday Feb. 4th at 7:30 pm.

On January 6th on a clear sunny day a TV crew from the show Chronicle which focuses on New England themes and News, came to The Stone Trust Center in Dummerston VT to learn about dry stone walls.  While mid winter is typically not the ideal time to film dry stone walling, our one of a kind indoor dry stone walling center went into full swing.

With just a few days notice we had put out the word to some local (and some not so local) DSWA-GB certified wallers.  The response was great and we had 9 wallers certified level 1 – 3.  On camera we were able to show a dry stone wall being built, as well as talk about the fantastic organization that is The Stone Trust.

One of the most amazing things about The Stone Trust is the community of wallers that come together around it.  Unlike other stone organizations, The Stone Trust is not about 1 or 2 people leading the way, it is about all of us who love and value dry stone walls.  For wallers from across New England to drop what they are doing and come to The Stone Trust with 2 days of notice shows how important the organization has become to the walling community.

If you cant tune in to see the show on air (Thursday at 7:30 on Ch 5 in Boston) you can stream our show live on our website

Fair warning: streaming can be a bit sketchy at times.  But we also post the individual segments on our site the following day, under the heading “Chronicle HD Videos”    Those links are up only a few days, but if you bookmark them you will have access forever and can share with far-flung friends and family.

Thanks to Brian Post, Peter Welch, and Jared Flynn, for setting this up and making it happen.  Special thanks to our dedicated wallers:  Andrew Pighills, Torbin Larsen, Seth Harris, Benjamin Maron, Jamie Masefield, TJ Mora, Brian Post, Peter Welch and Jared Flynn.
