Over the course of the two days each participant will build about 35 sq. ft. of wall (one side), using either round field stone, flat ledge stone, or a mixture. Level 1 participants will learn all the basics of structural walling, plus so much more, while building a straight section of free standing dry stone wall. Level 2 participants will work on building a wall end, also known as a cheek end. The knowledge taught in this workshop can be applied to any type of stone and dry stone walling project.
This workshop will be building new sections of wall in the masters feature park. The site will be prepared for an ideal learning environment. The two day format gives more time questions about your specific projects, learning how to shape stone, and even splitting stones using feathers and wedges.
This workshop will follow the typical two-day format. It is suited to beginners and those with previous experience. The cost is $385. The workshop will run 8:30am-4:30pm each day 1/2 hour lunch break. This workshop is open to everyone.
