Shaping Stone at the Stone Trust Central Valley, Vermont

The weekend after Labor Day was a busy one for the Stone Trust with three different workshops at three different sites. The Stone Trust Center in Dummerston, VT and at the Stone Trust Minnesota each hosted a 1-Day Introduction to Dry Stone Walling. The Stone Trust Central Valley hosted an Introduction to Stone Shaping workshop at the Vermont Granite Museum in Barre, VT. At this workshop, participants were eager to learn different tools and techniques, as well as how to use and shape different types of stone.

Many of you returned for your second or third Stone Trust workshop, as you continue to build on your dry stone skills. You came to this workshop from Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and even Canada! As beginners and enthusiasts, you left the workshop feeling like you had mastered many different elements of stone shaping. We can’t wait to see what you create with your new skills!

Thank you to Alex Hoffmeier for leading another great workshop. One of you said, “I couldn’t have asked for anything more.”
