We appreciate your questions. Thanks for working to understand The Stone Trust IT needs. Please see our responses to all the questions from vendors that we have received so far. We will update this page regularly. Feel free to check back.
We prefer that communications with constituents are all trackable to the individual constituent, rather than to a purchase, donation, or event, in order to use them as triggers for other emails and workflows.
We currently ask workshop registrants whether they want to opt-in to our mailing list to receive our e-newsletter.
We currently use USPS with the ShippingEasy app which integrates with WooCommerce.
We currently use several plugins for WooCommerce. The 2 plugins that play the biggest role in WooCommerce are WooCommerce Memberships and WooCommerce Subscriptions which help run The Stone Trust’s memberships. We also use the following:
- WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing
- WooCommerce Gravity Forms Product Add-Ons
- WooCommerce Name Your Price
- WooCommerce Product Bundles
- WooCommerce Services
- WooCommerce Square
- WooCommerce Stripe Gateway
- WooCommerce Zapier
- ARG Multistep Checkout for WooCommerce
While some have proved helpful, we would be interested to learn about alternatives that may be more efficient, more cost-effective, and/or consolidates functionality.
We are currently using ShippingEasy, integrated with WooCommerce. ShippingEasy sends email notices to customers when orders ship, along with a tracking number. It also “Completes” the transaction in WooCommerce when shipped.
Aside from an iPad and the Square Card reader, no other equipment has been purchased for on-site payment processing. Looking forward we expect to have multiple points of sale at sites across North America. On-site sales typically take place outside from a tent and trailer.
It makes sense for a purchaser to have the option to donate before completing a transaction, which means an upsell.
The board determined that we would continue with a fixed membership year, on the understanding that many nonprofits use that model. Some of our members would prefer a rolling annual membership year. Given IT that makes rolling memberships possible, TST staff will consider the pros and cons of both.
