1” Carbide Tipped Point.
Similar to other points but with a symmetrical 4 sided grind at the tip. Carbide is fully wrapped in brass and brazed to the handle stock. Ideal for fine and detailed work and working with hard stone. The point has quite a steep angle on it and will dig in well, but also can be damaged if hit with excessive force. The main use of this tool is removing high spots and creating flat even tops and sides on stones.
Hand forged by the blacksmith Kondo in Aichi, Japan.
The handle stock is 1” diameter, and the tool is about 7 1/2” long. Weighs 1 lb 7oz.
This tool is hand made and there are slight variations.
Very hard to get in North America.
