Take a Virtual Field Trip to a Stone Trust 1-Day Introduction to Dry Stone Walling Workshop

If you’ve never visited The Stone Trust Center in Dummerston, VT, you may like to take a virtual field trip to see where many of our workshops take place. during your visit, get a glimpse of our foundational class, 1.10 Introduction to Dry Stone Walling.  Watch the video to see how the course progresses through the day.

From July 11 through December 12, 2020 we offer eight 1-Day Intro workshops where you can learn the 5 basic rules that help you gain an appreciation for the only two forces at play in a dry stone wall; friction and gravity:

1.10 Intro @ Dummerston: July 11, July 17, August 16, September 12, October 18, November 7, and December 12 @ Stoneyard in Littleton, MA

Professionals may want to consider our July 17 Contractors Intro, which features discussions of good work practices, pricing walls, proper foundations, etc.

This introductory course establishes baseline knowledge for building structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing dry stone walls. It is the entry point to a progression of classes to enable you to achieve your goals in stone, whether you are a hobbyist, homeowner, landscaper or craftsman. The Stone Trust is an approved provider of LA CES credits and our workshops are a great way for landscape architects to receive the continuing education credits they need.
