This past spring we modified our one day workshops to cater directly to different members of the walling community.
A Father’s Day workshop in June taught by Michael Murphy brought fathers and sons together for a wonderful experience of learning the basics of dry stone walling.
A Women’s Only workshop taught by Kim Coggin, the only female DSWA certified instructor in the US, brought together women from across New England and beyond to learn and improve their dry stone walling. This was the first Women’s Only workshop taught by a woman in North America!
A Test Prep workshop in April taught by Seth Harris gave wallers who were signed up to take their tests in May a chance to learn new tips and practice for their upcoming tests.
In early April a packed Workshop for Contractors was taught by Brian Post. With discussions on pricing and bidding stonework, use of equipment, and determining backfill and foundation materials for varying situations it was an excellent learning experience for everyone.
Overall our spring One-Day workshop participation was up in 2015 and the varied workshops provided great learning environments. Look for more specialized workshops in the spring of 2016!
