You’re Invited for Walling and a Museum Tour!
Where: The Stone Trust Training Center at the Vermont Granite Museum
When: Saturday April 22 and/or Sunday April 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please join Stone Trust site champions and instructors Jordan Keyes, Alex Hoffmeier, and Jake McArdle to help with the continued build out of key walling features. With your help, we plan to extend the main workshop/test wall and build an independent cheek end feature.
Our combined efforts will be focused on constructing these features, with the bulk of the material organization, sorting, and layout prepared in advance. But some stone shaping is highly probable, so please bring your favorite hand tools.
This gathering is intended to be a casual (but productive!) collaborative build, as well as an introduction to the Vermont Granite Museum, site features, and the unique opportunities on the horizon. For instructors, this event will offer a great chance to become familiar with a new training site.
Light breakfast fair and lunch will be provided. However, local alternatives are nearby for more independent foragers.
What to Bring:
- Gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate footwear (wet + dry)
- Collection of favorite hand tools, small pinch bar
- Smiles!
PREREQUISITE: Completion of any Introduction to Dry Stone Walling Workshop
