Of course different motivations inspire, each of the seven women who came to April 10th’s Women’s Intro to Dry Stone Walling workshop at the Stone Trust Center in Dummerston, VT. Some came because they “just like rocks.” Others move stone around in their gardens, try to rebuild falling walls on their property, or have helped to build patios and paths. One has built granite piers for a dock in Maine. Another works as a preservation mason and is seeking dry stone walling certification. All came to enjoy a day learning and applying the five basic rules. Instructors Kim Coggin and Judy Rand helped them do just that! Thanks to everyone for coming. When you learn and share your knowledge, you help preserve and advance the art and craft of dry stone walling.
