So you are a professional waller getting ready to test for Dry Stone Walling Association Level 2 Waller Certification, globally recognized as the professional standard. You want to understand the scoring criteria and assure that you are ready to pass the test. It is a demanding test with substantially higher expectations for fit and finish. Attend this four-day course to see how you measure up against the scoring criteria. Determine the aspects of building a cheek end that you personally need to focus on to successfully test. Access a mentor who can help you prepare for your Level 2 test.

Workshop Objective:

To reinforce and build on the basic principles and techniques of dry stone walling and provide a good environment for expanding skills.

Learning Outcomes:

Many wallers fail the Level 2 certification test at least once. You may underestimate the skill level needed to pass. The Walling Skills Intensive (WSI) workshop helps you:
Over the course of three-days, you build a high-quality cheek end. During the build, you develop the necessary skills to build to the standard. On day four, you execute a 7-hour timed build on a different cheek end. The mock test reinforces lessons learned and lets you benchmark speed and quality. Throughout the workshop, you receive feedback on your process and the quality of your work. Wall evaluation and feedback will be led by a Dry Stone Walling Association Assessor /Master Craftsman.
Once you register for the Walling Skills Intensive, the Stone Trust seeks a DSWA-Stone Trust certified instructor to mentor you through the process of preparing for your Level 2 test. The mentor will review photos of your practice work and provide additional tips, feedback, and encouragement through phone, email, and other communication methods.
Come learn from certified waller-teachers, most of whom earn their livelihoods as dry stone walling professionals. All Stone Trust instructors have achieved DSWA Level 2 Waller Certification, globally recognized as the professional standard. As Stone Trust-DSWA-certified instructors, all belong to a learning community that seeks to ensure that every one of you learns what you came for and that you enjoy the process. With a student : instructor ratio of 4 : 1, during a Walling Skills Intensive you can count on plenty of direct interaction with your teachers.
