Not to be missed if you are planning to build your own curved wall. Especially valuable if you are aspiring to Level 3 Certification. Put your skills to the test on the permanent installation of the Dutton Farm walls.
In 2010, the Stone Trust–in partnership with property owner the Landmark Trust USA–began restoring the Dutton Farm House field wall. During the 2022 version of this workshop, participants rebuilt the bulk of the wall and accompanying pillars. The final workshop of this historic effort presents a spectacular opportunity to learn about building curved walls in a fun and supportive environment.
Located a two-minute drive or ten-minute walk from the Stone Trust Center, this quiet country dirt road with amazing easterly views of New Hampshire is the setting for the two large cheekends that tie into 70 feet of curved freestanding wall and 40 feet of curved retaining wall.
We will build with fieldstone from the historic wall, a mix of local ledge and glacial till, along with a mix of supplementary stone, including some granite.
Many workshop participants, instructors, and volunteers have spent thousands of hours preparing and rebuilding 900 lineal feet of wall over the past 10 years. This is the final effort of restoring this beautiful wall. We need you to help make it happen. Please join us.
